Our Services : Industry Domain 1 : Energy
As the global economy is recovering from the prolonged financial crisis, the next phase of growth is expected to be powered by emerging economies, of which India is a dominant player. With recently elected new government, India is likely to enter into next phase of growth and high energy demand arena. Power deficit has moderated, however going forward, lack of quality power would hamper inclusive growth. With worsening domestic coal supply and costly imported coal, thermal power capacity addition program led by coal is getting revised downwards. Further, concerns around energy security and climate change have been prompting the Government of India to include zero coal sustainable and greener options. This change in mind-set from “Carbon Conscious” to “Carbon Cautious” is likely to give a big push to Demand Side Management and Energy Efficiency to reduce “carbon intensity” going forward.
Supply as well as demand side measures are desired to sustain current growth levels in the efficient manner. Apart from capacity addition, supply side measures need to ensure efficient plant operations through effective O&M strategy. With inexperienced new generation entrepreneurs in power sector and declining availability of skilled manpower, there exists a risk of equity returns erosion in case of sub-optimal operational performance. This calls for specialised service providers who could address this experience gap.
